Background: Yanxun received her PhD in Statistics from Rice University in 2013. Her main research interests lie in the areas of biostatistics, bioinformatics and computational biology, with a focus on network analysis, Bayesian model development for complex, high-throughput, genomics and proteomics data, and early-phase clinical trials. Her research aims to provide computational methods to explore high-dimensional data, and derive hypotheses and solutions that may lead to discovery of new biological insights. Before her PhD, she completed her Master in Statistics from Texas Tech University, Lubbock in 2010 and Bachelors in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing in 2007. She Worked in Xinhua News Agency, Beijing from 2007 to 2008.
