Mplus FAQ #1: Mplus Availability

Question:

I would like to use Mplus to perform a path analysis, a confirmatory factor analysis, or a structural equation model. How can I access this software at UT?

Answer:

You may access Mplus in one of three ways:

  1. License a copy from Muthén & Muthén for your own personal computer.
  2. Obtain an ITS computer account to access our licensed copy over the UT Austin campus network. See our General FAQ #36 : Connecting to published statistical and mathematical applications on the ITS Windows Terminal Server for more information about this option.
  3. Download the free demo version of Mplus from the Muthén & Muthén Web site for your own personal computer.

If your models of interest are small, the free demo version may be sufficient to meet your needs. For larger models, you will need to purchase your own copy of Mplus or access the Mplus shared copy of the software through the campus network.
